As a final-year student working on my final-year project and seeking opportunities in Product Management while looking for ways to upskill, I stumbled upon a post on WhatsApp that changed the course of my journey. After registering and passing the entrance test, I successfully gained admission to the program! This unexpected turn of events has opened up new avenues for me, and I am excited to share my experiences and learnings with you.

This program includes:
- Essential skills to launch your career as a VA
- Hands-on projects to refine your skills
- Build your professional network and understand how to maintain clients
My Experience / what I learned
Weeks 1 and 2 were focused on Onboarding and Understanding Virtual Assistants. We kicked-off with Karibu, and began the first two weeks of the program by learning about the responsibilities of a VA and what it takes to succeed. Essential Skills • Professional Skills • Time Management.
We also got onboarded to the program proper, got introduced to the Savanna platform where the learning will be taking place, and had some live YouTube sessions to take us through the onboarding proper. Got to join the community where we met our squads(I am in Squad 19).
One of the many things I got to learn in these weeks was the act of communication. I learned the right way to communicate, to listen, and to respond. I also got to learn about what it means to be a proactive communicator — to think ahead, anticipate needs, and address them.
I got open to the 7 C’s of communication, which include, clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, complete, and courteous.
It was a wonderful beginning for me and I am very optimistic and looking forward to completing these 8 weeks of Virtual assistant training with not just a good grade but also great networks and relationships.
Thank you for joining me on this journey so far! Let’s take a brief pause as we eagerly anticipate the exciting opportunities and learning experiences that the next week will bring.
I am looking forward to sharing more updates and insights with you as I progress through the program. Stay tuned!📍
